Michael J. McNulty, MD is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who also possesses the prestigious certificate of added qualifications in orthopaedic sports medicine. He received his orthopaedic sports medicine training under the guidance of Dr. James Andrews at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. While there, he assisted in the orthopaedic care of the Washington Redskins, University of Alabama, Troy University, Alabama Ballet, and the Birmingham Barons and Montgomery Biscuits minor league baseball teams. He has assisted in the care of the New Orleans Zephyrs baseball team and is currently the team physician for Newman High School. In addition he also underwent advanced orthopaedic trauma training through AO International in Auckland, New Zealand. He completed his orthopaedic training and attended medical school at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, Texas and is also a graduate of the University of Virginia. Dr. McNulty’s orthopaedic interests include arthroscopic and minimally invasive treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip and knee disorders, as well as extremity fracture care. He is also at the forefront of biologic medicine providing cell therapy options including mesenchymal stem cell therapy as well as PRP (platelet rich plasma).
